Only for iOS: the best apps that will never be on Android

Exclusive apps for iOS

Compared to Android, iOS is a mobile operating system with many advantages, and one of them is the large number of apps developed exclusively for Apple.

iOS is more attractive to developers than Android. Many top apps come out on iOS first, but come out on Google Play months later, or not at all.

The reason for this difference in attitudes towards the operating systems is financial. iOS users are predominantly people with money and are well aware that the quality work of app creators must be paid accordingly. Android users, on the other hand, are used to free or very inexpensive software. Furthermore, quite a few paid Android apps can be downloaded from third-party sources, and Google turns a blind eye to this.

Therefore, quite a few serious projects initially released on the platform iOS, as for Android – whatever the card is.

Here are a brief overview of several applications that are exclusive to iOS and have no Android counterparts.

Hyperlapse

If you shoot time-lapse videos, you won’t find a better app for it. The interface of this app from the Instagram developers is very simple. In a few minutes, it’s easy to figure out how to shoot and process an original video for Facebook or Instagram.

Hyperlapse is free, but the developers have been slow to create an Android version for some reason.

Astropad

Astropad is an application that hooks up a Mac and iPad Pro, turning the latter into a graphics tablet with the ability to work in Photoshop and Illustrator. The app supports the Apple Pencil and excels at 60fps.

A Mac and iPad Pro can be connected via either a Lightning cable or Wi-Fi to work in the app.

Astropad is a chargeable and expensive application, but for professionals, it’s a tool that’s certainly worth the money.

iOS apps that will never be on Android

Photoshop Fix

This iPhone and iPad app is an excellent photo editor that lets you work with high-resolution images and save your edits as layers. So if you need to, you can transfer the edited image to your PC or laptop for work in a full-featured editor.

The Photoshop Fix application is free. But for some unknown reason there is no Android version.

Duet Display

This app is available for most people who use both Macs and iPads. The Duet Display allows connecting the devices with a Lightning cable, and the iPad screen becomes an external display on the Mac, where you can drag and drop windows from the tablet.

Interestingly, it can work not only with Macs, but also with Windows PCs and laptops.

The app is not available for Android.

Ulysses

The application for iPad is an excellent text editor that is used by many people working with printed word: journalists, writers, bloggers, people of other professions that need to create text documents.

The application allows you, for example, to type text on your iPad, send it to iCloud and then use it to finalise it on your Mac in the office or at home.

The app is chargeable and exists only in its iOS version.

Procreate

This is a drawing app for the iPad. Of course, it does not possess such an extensive toolkit as, for example, Illustrator, but support for Apple Pencil and the ability to work with layers – very worthy indicators.

The app is for a fee and is exclusive to iOS.
